Will Guru Come Into My Life On His Own Or Do I Need To Find Him?…

Will Guru Come Into My Life On His Own Or Do I Need To Find Him?

For us to have a Guru in our life, we must make every effort to find him; otherwise life will pass by whilst we keep waiting for him to come into our life. When you wholeheartedly set out on your quest of finding a Guru, Nature will help you in bringing about positive evidence together in securing a teacher.

But before searching for a Guru, decide on the purpose of having a Guru, what to look for from a Guru and what is our end goal in securing a Guru?

A Guru

Guru, also known as a teacher, helps us progress in life. They guide and coach us onto the right path when we are going wrong and in the right direction when things become hard or obscure in life.

What to look for in a Guru?

To find the right Guru, let us look at the kind of qualities we could look for in the Guru, and the type of experience we would have in his presence.

The true Guru has love and is beneficial to you.

He is free from anger, pride, deceit, and greed; meaning he is not looking for any personal gains rather only has your interest at heart.

A Guru is one where just at the mere sight of him, your whole body will bow down in reverence, spontaneously without a thought.

A Guru is where your heart rests; where you experience peace and whose image does not leave your eyes.

You like what he says and your mind accepts it.

The solution he suggests brings closure to your problems.

He expects nothing in return.

In his heart, he only wants that you progress, you rise higher and experience peace and happiness in life.

You are in awe of him when you set your eyes on him and you immediately feel that your search is over.

Guru is One whom we can trust and hence we do not have to use our brain and wisdom when he is guiding us.

There are two kinds of Guru:

One that guides, and

One that liberates.

In the first type, he walks ahead and we follow him as our Guru. He leads us and if we come across a fork in the road, he decides and guides, ‘No, not this road. Take that road.’ And thus, we walk on that road. While we are following him, he never sways us away from the right path.

The other is a spiritual Guru. A spiritual Guru or teacher is One that liberates us from all our worldly suffering. He is liberated and He liberates others! He does not keep us as his followers. You must stay sincere to such a Guru. The degree to which you are sincere with him is the degree of peace you will experience.

The need for a Guru starts from the time we begin school. Many Gurus can take us all the way to spirituality, but we cannot enter into the gate of knowledge of the Self without the guidance of a Guru who is himself liberated! Only the liberated can liberate.

The knowledge of the Self helps us attain Self-realisation. Here, we interface with our real Self. Thus, look for a spiritual Guru/teacher who gives you this knowledge and helps you realize the Self, your real Self.
