Absolutely not!

There are countless of benefits as to why you should meditate on a regular basis.

#1 Reason: Boost Your Immune System

So many people are plagued with disease and discomfort.

Every time I listen to the radio or look through a magazine, I am bombarded with advertisements for the latest and greatest medication to combat the new, upcoming disease.

Shouldn’t we be concentrating on prevention instead of repairing the damage?

I am not saying that medication doesn’t have its place yet, just that there has to be another alternative.

This is where meditation comes into play.

Meditation not “medication” can increase and boost your immune system by sending messages to your cells to rejuvenate and repair them.

Many studies have been conducted by respected Universities in which their research shows meditation can decrease inflammation that causes major diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

The next time you feel a cold coming on, grab your favourite meditation pillow instead of your brand-name cold remedy and “Zen” out.

#2 Reason: Reduce Stress

Stress has been around forever and will never go away – unfortunately.

Yet there is good news.

You can learn to drastically reduce the amount of stress you are experiencing through the practice of meditation and relaxation.

Many of my clients say they don’t have time to meditate, or don’t know how to, which can cause more stress and build tension.

You want to take a few minutes each day to easily incorporate the benefits of meditation to assist in reducing stress, but how do you do that when time is limited?

Here is an exercise that you can do daily.

Be mindful of taking 2 to 3 minutes before getting out of bed to focus on your breath and set a positive intention for your day.

Finish your day with 2 to 3 minutes of expressing gratitude while taking deep breaths and wash away the tension.

#3 Reason: Increase Your Brain Power

Are you lacking in the creative and productivity departments? Are you feeling as though you can no longer concentrate? Does your brain feel fuzzy and unfocused?

Well, you guessed it – try meditation to increase your brain power.

When you meditate, your brain produces more grey matter, your attention to detail becomes sharper, your body intuitively heals itself, and your become more productive since you have “recharged” your batteries (your brain).

You can meditate during your lunch break, outside while soaking up some sunrays, or by taking a walk by refocusing on your intention set that morning and taking 10 deep breaths.

Your employer will thank you for your burst of energy after lunch.

Meditation can be done by anyone, anywhere and anytime.

It provides many benefits to your body, mind and soul.

With practice and consistency, the art of meditation will becoming part of your regular routine and you will wonder what you ever did beforehand.
