Most important are protein and carbohydrates for muscular maintenance and energy, but it’s also important to account for all of the essential vitamins and nutrients, because it has a role to play in a healthy body. It’s also important not to overdo your intake of certain nutrients like simple carbs or salt, because your needs in these areas are lower than you might expect, and too much of a good thing can become a bad thing. It’s also important to scale your intake of certain ingredients, such as protein and electrolytes, to your level of physical activity.
