1) Historic city for the insatiably curious

The cradle of religions, Jerusalem, is one of the oldest cities in the world. Revive your spirituality in Lourdes, a small town in south-western France. What is special about this small market town in the Midi-Pyrenees region is that it is believed that the Virgin Mary appeared many times. The local teenage girl Bernadette Soubirous has seen the Virgin Mary 18 times and ever since 1858. When this happened Lourdes has become a place of pilgrimage, with many Catholics coming from all over the world to visit the place, who believe that can be healed by the spring water from the grotto.
