About this Episode
Continuing our conversation with best-selling author and Ayurvedic nutritionist, Sahara Rose, we now take the plunge into understanding the Gunas. Just like there are three Doshas—Vata, Pitta and Kapha—in Ayurveda there are also three cosmic forces, which are the subtler forms of each Dosha—prana, tejas, and ojas. These energies are present in the foods you eat, and consuming foods that are high in prana, tejas, or ojas can bring those energies into your body. After Sahara educates us about the Gunas, I quiz her on what tools we need at home to make Ayruvedic recipes in our modern kitchen. The go-to kitchen tools she loves may surprise you!
