5 Recipes To Replace Chemical Products With Essential Oils



Essential Oils can get the Job Done!

Think about how many chemicals you have inhaled in the past hour. We don’t really think about it, do we? From cleaning your home to breathing the air outside, there are a lot of chemicals that we are ingesting internally.

If you want to make a change, I recommend taking it slow, then changing up a couple things and go from there. Below are the top five recipes to make the shift to living a chemically toxin-free lifestyle.

All-Purpose Cleaner

  • 16 oz. glass spray bottle
  • 1/4 cup Vinegar
  • 1 3/4 cup Water
  • 30 drops of essential oils (I recommend either lemon or a protective blend like Onguard)

Glass Spray – no Windex here!

  • 16 oz. glass spray bottle
  • 1 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup distilled water
  • 8 drops of any citrus oil

Room Spray – Forget Febreze!

  • Spray bottle (aluminum or glass)
  • Fill bottle with water
  • Add 10 drops of your choice of oil (cinnamon or citrus smells great)

Cleaning Powder

  • 2 cups borax
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1 cup citric acid
  • 1 cup kosher salt
  • 20 drops Lemon essential oil

 




Stove Top Cleaner

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • ¼ cup table salt
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4–5 drops of Purify Cleansing Blend

Directions:

  1. Stir all ingredients together until they form a paste and spread it over the stove top
  1. and burners.
  2. Leave it on for 15 minutes or longer for hard-to-remove stains.
  3. Using a sponge, scrub the mixture into the grime.
  4. Remove excess cleaner and wipe surface clean.
