Everything is trying to be! Even a strand of RNA virus; spreading to find hosts because it can’t exist alone for long. In my meditations, it mutates enough to go away: far beyond the atmosphere twining in helix form to populate some far-flung planet. There evolving into some higher, safer, more enlightened species. Ultimate social distancing at its best!
Yet the physical distance we’ve needed has shown us how isolation and intimacy are two ends of a spectrum. How do we use these positions for learning insight and kindness?

When the treat of death comes close and namable, we are humbled by the precariousness of life. How precious is this life-gift of self-awareness, of consciousness, of contemplation; and also, how daunting.
We like to think of life as predictable. Even early sun worshipers loved to track the consistency of light and shadow. Yet we are gifted a new day every day. The unpredictable arises anew. The malleable ever-changing reality offers up the invitation for creativity- adaptability- the possibility of all things. Things rise and fall away in the passing of space-time and we are aware.
I choose to be aware, or do I? Do we choose this awareness? Yet, here it is. So, I invite you to be aware in an observable state inclined to choose love as the ultimate creative force. Fear is here too, and we can listen and be careful, still remembering love as the way to quiet the fear. To quiet it just enough to reach out for one another in kindness and bravery. If you have found this core of strength…share it. It is greatly needed. It is a true survival tactic.
