4 Ways To Find Your Peace…

4 Ways To Find Your Peace

“When you feel a peaceful joy, that’s when you are near the truth” -Rumi

We are constantly bombarded with outside forces that disrupt our peace. Whether it’s a series of events, the behavior of others, or our own life challenges, we may feel emotionally exhausted and at risk of losing ourselves. So how do we get to a place of peace?

A powerful quote by Saint Francis de Sales reminds us of our responsibility to preserve our peace, “Never be in a hurry, do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset”. This is a tall order but central to our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It is said, ‘the devil is in the details’ but I adopt the idiom that ‘a higher power centered in truth governs my life’.

Reclaim your power and return to your natural state of peace, love, and joy by following the following steps.

Get quiet

When your peace is threatened or disrupted, you can feel it in your whole body. Streams of annoying thoughts make us fearful of what may happen. However, we cannot be where we have not yet arrived. Recognize when you are out of harmony with yourself. Halt and stop the noise. Disconnect from the outside world. If you have a sacred space, favorite place, or peaceful memory, be here now. Take deep cleansing breaths. Inhale peace and exhale fear and disturbing thoughts. Continue until you feel a sense of calm. Go deeper within and hone the quiet power of peace.

Set your intention

Setting an intention for peace shifts our perspective and helps us positively reframe our lives. We can consciously choose to disengage from self-imposed negativity and adopt a healthier approach when we are out of harmony with ourselves. Put your attention on the energy of peace. Whether it’s a simple prayer, meditation, or affirmation, set your intention to be lifted in peace. “I am peace” is a simple mantra. Feel the vibration of peace radiate throughout your entire being and the powerful emotion of gratitude which nurtures a joy-filled consciousness. This state of being unites us with our true self. Set your intention for peace and consider this as an automatic ritual in your daily life.

Move into stillness

Stillness is a higher state of consciousness that guides our soul. Imagine sitting in the beauty of your own sacred garden with complete silence. Channel the graceful divine power of peace and boundless tranquility. Go deep within and embrace the serenity of each peaceful moment. Know that is a place you can access anywhere, anyplace, and anytime. The quiet power of peace, that resides in this higher realm of consciousness, brings us to a state of equanimity.

Anchor in Divine Love

The outside world is ever-changing and can be chaotic. We can lose ourselves and our way forward mired in fear and uncertainty. The essence of who we truly are is constant, stable, and unchanging. Love is our eternal life force and divine birthright. When we give up struggle and surrender to our higher power, we tap into the incandescent wellspring of peace and love that transcends fear. Feel the exuberant energy of love that opens our heart, nurtures our soul, and sustains us in everyday life. Rumi quotes, “There is a force within that gives you life. Seek that”. Anchor in love, reclaim your power and let peace guard your heart and life.

Dwell in peace

Being at peace is an act of love, and from a peaceful heart, we can access divine guidance. Do not be in a hurry — be patient. Patience is an ingredient of love and through patience we remain calm and self-composed. A befitting excerpt by Rumi, “Patience is not sitting and waiting, it is foreseeing. It is looking at the thorn and seeing the rose, looking at the night, and seeing the day.” Be open to Divine guidance that is available to direct your life. Dedicate and commit to accessing this place of perfect peace. Engage in journaling to chart your journey of peace, and incorporate the incessant spirit of gratitude that nurtures a positive joy-filled consciousness. When you feel the chaos, revert to this place of perfect peace and embody your natural state of being.

Conclusion

Your life can be an epic journey.  How will you choose to travel?  Inner peace brings so many positive emotions. It is not escaping from problems but gives us clarity, understanding, and courage to gain a new perspective. It enables us to accept life as it comes, engage in authentic self-expression, and fully participate in all facets of life. From a peaceful heart free of anxiety, confusion, and worry, divine love flows. There is victory in peace, and we should aim for this in all life circumstances. Realize that all is happening for our own spiritual evolution. Make peace with yourself and you will make peace with all that manifests in your life. Peace is the path to joy. Be still and know that all is well.
