“I Won’t Take The Easy Road”…And How This Can SHIFT Your Entire Perspective On Life

It’s October 1st as I write this, and once again, I feel a resurgence of energy amidst a new month. Not to mention the fact that today marks 90 days until the end of 2018.

And numerologically speaking, 2018 is known as the “year of abundance”.

And maybe you have felt this RISE within you to a deeper calling.

Maybe you have not.

But this rise comes not from abundance, but from balancing the duality within.

The struggle to be ONE, yet be part of the collective.

To shine as an individual, yet be accepted without judgment.

And above all, to be HEARD.

According to Felicia Bender, The Practical Numerologist, The Universal Year in Numerology represents a global energy that will affect all of us. In 2018, the world will strike a new balance between individuality and partnership during the 11/2 Universal Year.

And maybe you’re sitting here wondering how this all ties together.

In fact, that’s my zone of genius so it would be my divine pleasure to connect the dots in your inner + outer worlds.

The thoughts and feelings that burn within you, and how your reactions can have a ripple effect on the collective consciousness of the world.

I have many racing thoughts within me everyday, and often times I fear letting them out for reasons of misunderstanding, judgement, and not getting across EVERYTHING I feel in words that truly paint the picture vibrantly.

I feared not always being able to blog at a DEEP level that truly spoke to your heart.

But in staying silent, I keep this WILD energy tamed within.

And it was eating me alive, these thoughts,

no matter how often I meditated,

drank calming tea,

ate organic + whole foods,

followed an anti-inflammatory lifestyle,

and enlightened my Soul by reading the teachings of my greatest spiritual mentor, Deepak Chopra.

And that’s what I find to be the greatest irony, is that while the world has become more connected on social media and many other global platforms, many still seek the “quick fix”.

Especially in light of the term abundance, which has become a word as commonly used as money.

In fact, it’s often mistaken for money.

And don’t get me wrong, this is not an article to inspire thoughts that abundance or money is greed.

In fact, quite the opposite. Because something I learned years ago that REALLY stuck with me is that “money is energy”.

Energetically, people pay money to receive something of equal value.

What you value may be different than what I value, but it doesn’t make it right to place judgment or blame.

And I’m tying this all together into the black profile picture movement taking place on Facebook yesterday because in sharing the value of my opinion, there were many women who shared the love.

And there were others who placed blame on my words.

Who misunderstood my point, because perhaps they felt personally attacked by sharing my opinion of why I didn’t stand with the movement.

But doesn’t this go against everything humanity is fighting for, the right to be SEEN, HEARD, and VALUED as a WOMAN?

This magical year of 2018, I read the most influential book titled “Women Who Run With the Wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estes which housed over 500+ of deep and intellectual folklore with REAL life presence, especially in light of the rise of women, WILD WOMEN.

To be honest, I’m not sure any other book will tear at my heartstrings like Clarissa so beautifully did, but I really think this quote speaks volumes,

To be ourselves causes us to be exiled by many others, and yet to comply with what others want from us causes us to be exiled from ourselves. — Clarissa Pinkola Estes

That right there is the SECRET recipe to success.

Yet in a culture that craves the quick fix, so many seek to “take the easy road”.

Easy is safe, it makes logical sense, and it’s what I KNOW.

My mother used to tell me, “the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t know.”

Yet what if the devil I don’t know holds the keys to everything I desire, and yet I’ve wasted so much time taking the path of the devil I know that I’ll never achieve LASTING SUCCESS?

Sure, money comes, money goes.

Hence why I LIVE by the mantra that “money is energy”.

Energy comes, and energy goes.

It’s just like anything in life, it CAN BE an infinite flow.

As Deepak Chopra so profoundly said at a talk I attended back in Chicago years ago, you are .00000000001% of this Universe.

And I don’t say that to minimize your presence in this world, in fact, I am included in this measure which is deeply empowering to KNOW that the ethers of this Universe do not consist solely from what we KNOW.

The 99.99999999% left is WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW.

Now before you give up on reading this, and think this is a spiritual plight to throw in the towel and surrender to a life solely of prayer, meditation, and deep ritual, let me enlighten you by sharing that my views are quite the opposing.

I won’t take the easy road, because simply, NOTHING EASY is of value.

And if you picked up on the lyrics of the song, My Silver Lining by First Aid Kit, you are SO right.

I had the pleasure of seeing the gorgeous duo, Klara + Johanna Soderberg this past weekend for their Rebel Heart Tour showing in Napa Valley.

And as I listened to the PURE HEART that radiated from their voices, tears streamed down my face as I was inspired to piece this all together today and share with you.

I don’t want to wait anymore
I’m tired of looking for answers
Take me some place where there’s music and there’s laughter
I don’t know if I’m scared of dying
But I’m scared of living too fast, too slow

Regret, remorse, hold on, oh no I’ve got to go….

Tired of waiting, tired of looking for answers.

She’s gotta go, she hears the voice calling…

But will she answer to the voice of the ego mind?

The one that keeps us safe, stuck, seeking for answers?

No, she won’t take the easy road. The chorus continues…

I hear a voice calling

Calling out for me

These shackles I’ve made in an attempt to be free

Be it for reason, be it for love

I won’t take the easy road

And to wrap up this beautiful montage into advice that makes sense for your REAL LIFE, I repeat what I said before:

Nothing easy is of value, because energetically there was no driving force to make it so.
That’s not to say that spiritually you can manifest the law of attraction to bring to light your deepest intentions of the heart.
But there must be PASSION behind it.

The passion is emotional, and emotions aren’t easy.

And while many spiritual leaders believe that hiking the Himalayas and living a life of deep reflection manifests abundance, I follow this school of thought deeply, while also being HUMAN.

We live in a human world.

We have human thoughts.

We feel human fears.

And being human, we are not perfect.

In fact, we aren’t the core of what this Universe is composed of….

But what humans have that distinguish ourselves from the other forms of creation is FREE WILL.

Free will to take the easy road.

Free will to know that anything worth fighting for involves your SWEAT EQUITY.

Not working HARD, but smart.

Strategically, yet spiritually.

Connected, yet surrendered to the 99.9999999% dark matter that has a greater presence than the human affairs we are always bumbling about.

And while I apologize for the lengthy blog today, I truly am not sorry.

I have a lot to say, and I feel my words have weight.

They are implanted within me for a REASON, as are your thoughts you think everyday.

And if you take anything to heart from my share, it’s that it is every human on this earth has a divine mission to exercise free will, on one very critical condition.

That the energy desires from that free will HELP the human condition.

That you start within your network, and blossom outward radiantly.

That the FREEDOM immersed in your efforts FLOW outward to the global mission of peace and unconditional love.

So with 90 days left of this abundant 2018, I challenge you to think how you will MAKE YOUR MARK.

What will you aspire to reflect on during New Year’s Eve as you look back at the collective impact you’ve had in your world, both inside and out?
