Are These 8 Things Holding You Back From True Happiness?…

Are These 8 Things Holding You Back From True Happiness?

Less is More

Regardless of age, gender, race, religion, and culture we all face many goals in life that push us forward each and every day. In saying that, our goals will vary at different times in our life, but one that will remain constant is our common goal to achieve true happiness.

One of the most instrumental factors holding us back from this dream is the set of limitations we put on ourselves each and every day. So how do we alleviate these restraints?

Remember, life can either be something you embrace or something you hide from. Stop making things complicated, and just live your life. It would be so much simpler and more enjoyable if we learned to just release certain limitations.

The Past

Living in the past is for those who harbor ill feelings of the future.

Unfortunately, there is nothing to be gained by reliving and rethinking mistakes you have previously made.

By taking past mistakes as lessons learned and moving forward, your outline becomes positive in how you can react different in the same situation.

Ideally, you cannot wholeheartedly move on to a better future and life if you are constantly looking behind you and are regretful of things that have occurred in the past. Live life today and look forward to a brighter tomorrow.

Expectations

Managing your thoughts and expectations is the key to happiness.

By letting go of hard-coded expectations, you will never be disappointed. Often, we tend to believe that the way we treat others will be the way we are treated in return.

This, unfortunately, does not always happen and is certainly not the rule of human behavior.

Not expecting certain results or behaviors from certain situations allows you to experience things with an open mind. Be free, and enjoy life without the pressure of living up to preconceived notions.

Procrastination

Hmm… This is, for most, a hard pattern to quit or change.

By allowing yourself to do today what needs to be done tomorrow, your mind is able to stop thinking that tomorrow you will finally “get to” whatever task is at hand.

By maximizing your time in a task, it will allow you time to feel free from worry and stress by getting things out of the way as soon as possible.

You also allow yourself more free time to enjoy the things you love.

The Need for Control

This personally is a hard element to release for most. Allow life to just happen the way it is meant to.

By not cannot stressing about things that are outside of your control, you release yourself to a remarkable world of wonder.

Relax and let life play out naturally by embracing the unknown and rolling with what comes your way.

Life was meant to be enjoyed.

Jealousy

Jealousy in any form is a feeling that will never bring happiness.

Ideally, the concept of happiness is not having what you want; it’s wanting what you have. To stop envying others and learning to appreciate what you have is a life lesson lost on most.

In our ever-changing world, we must understand that not only is everyone’s life different and unique, but that life has a way of swaying from good to bad and back.

When we act upon jealousy, it will only bring negative thoughts and feelings into our lives.

Be happy for others in their times of abundance, and be aware that your time will come as well.

Anger/Resentment

Any type of anger or resentment will eat at you from the inside out.

Learning how to make peace with those who have wronged you is imperative to living a full and content life and finding true happiness.

Traditionally, we are always suggested to forgive people for their transgressions, but it isn’t about letting the other person off the hook; it’s about alleviating the pain that resonates within you.

Learning to let go of your deep-seated anger allows you to control your feelings. Remember: what angers you controls you.

Negativity

Negativity, regardless of where it comes from, is toxic.

By making a diligent effort to avoid negativity or not to engage in negative behaviors or discussions becomes a pattern that must be practiced daily.

If you have always thought of life as a glass half empty, reverse your thinking to view it as half full. It brings to light the acceptance of abundance.

You have so much to be grateful for, so take a moment to appreciate it. Anything is possible in the mind of a positive thinker. Be thankful!

The Approval of Others

Most of us who subscribe to this form of approval will never achieve their dreams. Relying on the approval of others is only setting yourself up for disappointment and a negative outlook on their life.

Our lives were meant to be lived to the fullest. We are all individuals, unique in every sense.

The approval of ourselves is all that truly matters. If you are happy with the decisions you have made, then that is all that matters.

Think of how much more you could achieve if you stopped letting other people’s opinions dictate the way you live, love, and walk through your life.

Letting go of these eight thought processes will allow you to not only truly be happy but will definitely give you a vastly different view on your life and how you can live if to the fullest.

Live life in your best version of yourself and without hesitation.
