10 Natural Ways To Heal And Prevent Sinusitis

1) Cajeput Oil

Cajeput oil is commonly used in combination with eucalyptus and many other flower essential oils and carrier oils. Cajeput oil is used in vaporizers to open up nasal passages, sinuses, and for calming mucus membranes and getting rid of pain and fevers. It’s also a good expectorant for colds, allergies, and flu symptoms, plus it helps with bronchitis and laryngitis.

Adding 20 to 25 drops of Cajeput oil to boiling water and breathing the vapors will open up sinuses and get rid pressure sinus headaches. Cajeput oil is a good anti-inflammatory agent that helps with pain, swelling, and redness. This is the quick fix for healing the symptoms of sinusitis not for healing the cause.

2) Probiotics

Sinusitis comes about because of an imbalance in good bacteria in our gut. This lack of probiotics throws off our whole immune system and causes certain types of bad bacteria to take over and cause inflammation. So it’s important to eat food that will cultivate good bacteria in your digestive system.

You can choose from at least 1 cup of sauerkraut daily, 1/2 cup of kimchi 2 to 3 times a week. Additionally, you can consume food with a lot of resistant starch such as organic oatmeal, cornmeal, and cooked green bananas and plantains.

3) Healthy Diet

We become extremely sensitive to everything when we have 30 to 50 chemicals in our food that creates havoc in our bodies. Additionally, animal products create a Trimethyl-N-Oxide toxin which can lead to disease such as sinusitis. These chemicals break down the one cell thick lining of our gut and that allows these toxic substances to cross over into the bloodstream and be attacked by our antibodies. Then, these antibodies will begin attacking similar proteins that can be found in our sinuses.

To avoid this scenario, it’s best to go with a plant-based diet and consume more organic food.

4) Stinging Nettle

Stinging Nettle works great for sinusitis and is a good anti-histamine for allergies and other allergic reactions like dermatitis, hives, and hay fever. If you suffer from swollen painful mucous membranes, sore throats, inflammation, sinus pressure, and runny nose, then Nettle will do the trick. Nettle was studied in comparison with NSAID non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and found that the former did just as well as all the prescription drugs without the side effects.
