Handling Your Money, Emotions, & Romance Under Venus Retrograde…

Handling Your Money, Emotions, & Romance Under Venus Retrograde

That’s right folks. As of May 13, Venus – the planet ruling your love, beauty, and values – is literally moving backward, and will continue to do so in an airy Gemini fashion until June 25. During this time, your relationships and emotions may be extremely heightened – making them feel chaotic, even consuming you in a larger-than-life manner.

What most people don’t realize is that Planet Venus also rules art and money. So, as you’re overwhelmed by that ex who has suddenly come back into your life or that breakup you just can’t seem to get over, prepare for a shakeup in the way you handle money, and your surroundings to be thrown into the mix as well.

However, don’t let this freak you out. Don’t let it freak you out that Geminis, Cancers, and Sagittariuses will be most impacted by this retrograde. I’m going to walk you through how to handle each facet of life Venus Retrograde may rattle for you.

Love, love, love

As Venus moves backward, so will the parts of your life it has influence over. Being that Venus empowers your romance and pleasures, it’s only normal for closed doors in your love life to re-open. In other words, you may find that a past lover reaches out to you between now and June 25, or you may find yourself thinking so much about a past romance that you reach out to them.

If you’re in a relationship, your emotions may feel heightened. Perhaps your communication with a past romance could be diverting your attention from your partner, causing friction, or you two could be finding yourselves butting heads more often than normal. Keep in mind that Venus Retrograde only happens every two years. With this being said, if you’re in a relationship with someone you weren’t with two years ago, having already experienced life under a Venus Retrograde with them, this may bring you two to feel some kind of disconnect toward each other as your reminisce on the past.

While your decisions are forever yours, I recommend handling them with care. Understand that the universe has everyone’s emotions out of sorts right now and there’s nothing we can do about it. In fact, trying to do something about it may result in more damage than simply carrying on would. With regard to new romance, proceed with caution. This may not be the best time for casual hookups and flings as unfinished business with an ex could be the underlying motive.

With regard to reaching out to an ex, or accepting an ex’s offer to romance, don’t be so quick so no, but also don’t be so quick to say yes. Even more importantly, don’t get so caught up in the firey concept that “the love of your life has returned”. When you move quickly, you die early. Keep that in mind if this scenario applies to you, and as always, go with your gut feeling.

Money and your surroundings

I’ll bluntly say that right now is not the time to make changes in your physical appearance. Saying this, avoid cutting or dying your hair, drastic changes to your wardrobe or home decor, ridding yourself of facial hair, etc. Your fiscal tank correlates to your surroundings. This is not the time to invest in major purchases. In fact, avoid shopping altogether – besides quarantine necessities, of course. Avoid get-rich-quick schemes, and avoid too-good-to-be-true purchases.

Instead, take this time to re-evaluate. If you’re an entrepreneur, reassess your business plan. If you’re a single parent, reassess your budget. Here’s a resource with financial tips to survive a COVID-19 layoff or furlough. If you’re a younger Gen X/Millennial, take the time to rack up your money as if it’s the last time in life you’ll have to do so.

When you do spend, spend your money on responsible doings. On top of quarantine shopping such as groceries, consider purchases that will benefit your community altogether – such as digitally giving to a church or food bank. It’s more important now than ever we use our energy for good rather than for selfish deeds. On top of retrograde leaving the bulk of us emotionally vulnerable, the Coronavirus still has many of our neighbors physically vulnerable. We all have the power to help make the lives of someone around us just a little bit easier, and if a Venus Retrograde under a pandemic isn’t the perfect time to do so, I don’t know when will be.

Maintain your peace

Don’t let a Venus Retrograde scare you. You still have all of the power to remain in control of yourself, and you’re still you. The universe is just testing us right now, and it’s your time to prove to the universe that you have the strength to do what’s right for you. Why? Who knows. However, you can always push through.

Continue any mindful practices you’ve had before the retrograde, and it wouldn’t hurt to pick up a couple of extra meditative practices to help give yourself a natural boost until June 25.

Stay calm, and keep pushing on.
