Find Your Oasis

In the heat of Summer, you can find your Oasis!

Here are 3 ways to create a restorative Haven for Mind, Body, and Soul:

1.Mind…Become Open Minded

Cultivate Mind-Knowing: Do you know your own mind? To become the observer of your mind you can begin with peace and quiet. This simple practice is life altering. Allow time for yourself where you can rejuvenate in stillness. Make it safe and spacious…meditation, prayer, visualizations, and breathing all lead you to your Oasis.

Time and space boundaries help. Sit in your self-created sanctuary, even if it is just a chair in your room. The space can be decorated with objects that bring tranquility. Set your phone-timer for 5 minutes or more…and see what happens. Do not abandon yourself. Stay. Stay and seek connection with Bliss.

Close your eyes. Fall in love. Stay there. – Rumi

2. Body…Become a Sensualist

Cultivate Body-Knowing: Becoming a sensualist means to engage with your senses.

As a famous psychologist once said:

Loose your mind and come to your senses

…Fritz Perls

• As you look…see

• As you hear…listen

• As you use your sense of smell…experience fragrance

• As you taste…savor your food

• As you touch…feel texture, warmth, whatever quality of touch you find

This opens a whole new world of sensual awareness. Body-knowing is a heightened form of intelligence that evolved over millions of years. It is not your elbow or liver, or even your brain that is sending you this knowing, it is Cosmic Intelligence flowing through you! Awaken to body awareness.

3. Soul…Become a Connector:

Cultivate Soulful Connections: Soul-knowing is unique. You sink your mind into your body to find your soul. You also come to know being a soulful connector through the world of Nature, People you relate to especially in give-and-take spiritual relationships, and through opening to “Source” (God, the Universe, Divinity, Great Spirit, Mystery)…whatever calls to you is profound and gratifying.

Faith is an oasis in the heart which will never be reached by the caravan of thinking

… Khalil Gibran

Your psychological story is important. Yet what heals you involves more. Insightful exploration of life challenges, soulful challenges, gratitude for the profound gift of life and Self-Awareness all serve to enhance your search for Oasis: the sanctuary where you find Love, Peace and Beauty.

Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray. – Rumi

You may ask yourself these exoteric questions to seek the Oasis:

• Who am I? (The great spiritual question in all ancient wisdoms)

• What is my life story really about? (If your life story were a novel what would the hero or heroine be seeking?)

• What feeds my soul?

• What do I need to know in order to stop wandering in the desert, and to find that gratifying Oasis?”

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass the world is too full to talk about…Rumi

Pay attention to Mind, Body and Soul on the journey. Your Soulful Connection.. with yourself, nature, others, and the Divine essence will lead you to your Oasis. Desire it and it will come.

I’ll meet you there.
