Every Woman Is A Shakti
A few years ago, I was introduced to the world of Bhakti. In Hinduism, Bhakti refers to :: devotion to, and love for, a personal god or a representational god by a devotee. Within each and every one of us, lives the lover and the beloved, the dancer and the dance. The essence of God and Goddess merged as one, is us and has always been us.. many of us forget this truth from time to time, and many of us are without this truth and deep inner-standing.
Within each woman, there lives a goddess. The life energy that lives within the chalice of women is Shakti. Shakti is the creative manifesting energy of the universe. Not only is she responsible for the creation, she is also responsible for the maintenance and destruction of the universe. Shakti is the Dance of life. She is stimulating, invigorating, dynamic awareness.
Now, more than ever, women are opening themselves to the flow and rhythm of divine grace and power of the Mother Goddess, like a lotus flower in the mud, to facilitate the birth and Rising of Feminine Consciousness in the world. The Feminine is rising, for this energy has been underdeveloped in history.
Through Bhakti – through pure devotion to this life force energy, we can experience the great awakening within and without. Through ecstatic dance and mantra we have the ability to melt into oneness as the dancer and the dance, as the lover and the beloved, as Shiva and Shakti, as pure awareness and dynamic awareness.
If you want to get an immediate sense of Shakti’s presence, try one of these two practices ::
1) The Shakti Rose Womb Dance ::
Let the spirit of Shakti move through you in ecstatic trance. The dance of Shakti is the dance of the cosmos. She is sacred sexual energy. She is sensual flow. She is primal. She is the Frequency of the Rose. Lose yourself or whoever you think you are in this dance of the Mahadevi. Close your eyes in this dance, pay no attention to anyone else. No words needed, just the language in your movement. You may wish to start your dance with very soft movements, connecting with the voice of your womb, starting from the root chakra and element of earth, and then building this energy, letting it spiral upward to the crown of your head. You may wish to then GET WILD! shake and open your hips, letting all that does not serve you in this bliss frequency to roll right off your hips, giving all the resistance-fear-judgement back to the source from which it came, sending that baggage of deadweight back into the underworld where it belongs. Crawling on the floor like a feline, staying connected to your breath, sticking out your tongue with every exhale. At times you may notice that sometimes you feel completely in this energy and completely out of it – THAT’S OK! Integrate the sacred pause, bringing prayer hands to the heart – breathing deeply – remembering the Sacred Red Rose. Becoming soft again, and then wild as you build that energy up again. You can commit to this devotional practice for 13 days. Recording your experience in a journal, video, or even audio.
2) The Adi Shakti Devotional Mantra ::
This mantra invokes the primary Creative Power which is manifest as the feminine. It calls upon the Mother Deva Power. It will help you to be free of the insecurities which block freedom of action. By meditating on this mantra, one can obtain a deeper innerstanding of the constant interplay between the manifest and the unmanifest qualities of the cosmos and consciousness.
Bring your hands into Yoni Mudra
Adi Shakti Adi Shakti Adi Shakti, Namo Namo
Sarab Shakti Sarab Shakti Sarab Shakti, Namo Namo
Pritham Bhagvati Pritham Bhagvati Pritham Bhagvati, Namo Namo
Kundalini Mata Shakti Mata Shakti, Namo Namo
I bow to the Primal Power.
I bow to the all Encompassing Power and Energy. I bow to that through which God creates. I bow to the creative power of the kundalini, the Divine Mother Power.
This powerful mantra belongs to all women to call upon any time. She can chant it freely and powerfully at will, any time.
The Shakti Rose Womb Mantra ::
“ I am the sacred rose
in my primal flow
Adi Shakti Adi Shakti
Namo Namo “
Sense the presence of a subtle channel of energy running through the center of your body from the base of your spine, to the sacred heart, through the crown of the head. You may feel it as expansion, tingling, or a subtle feeling of electricity. Again, recognize that this feeling is Shakti.
