Unplug & Recharge: Day Retreat in Nature
SATURDAY, JULY 20, 2019
Need a break from the hustle?
If you’re looking for an escape, this day is for you. Come to the Sanctuary to rest your mind, regain focus and restore balance in your life. Our magical woods will serve as the backdrop for your discovery of peace in the quiet.
We’ll start the morning with a guided earthwalk to immerse you in the medicine of the woods. At the base of an ancient hollow oak tree, we will take part in a Shinrin-yoku or “forest bathing” exercise designed to deepen your connection to nature. After a delicious, vegetarian lunch, we’ll add joy and playfulness to our day through creative expression. No special skills are necessary to benefit from this fun way to unwind!
The day is kept spacious intentionally to ensure you have time alone to retreat your way—meditate, journal, explore, yoga, read or nap in a hammock.
Registration includes the program, a vegetarian lunch, herbal tea and healthy bites
We are a 53-acre retreat center in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Meadows of Dan, Virginia. Our sacred space provides you with a perfect environment for experiencing the restorative power of nature.
Our secluded, peaceful sanctuary is an ideal place for relaxing, reconnecting to nature and renewing your spirit. Along with majestic trees, the rhododendron-filled woods, creeks, spring-fed ponds, pastureland and meandering walking trails invite you to slow down and tap into nature’s magic.
Julie Sczerbinski and Bob Wray are friends and neighbors who have joined together to care for this land, Magic Tree Sanctuary. They have created a place where people can get away and connect with nature—slow down, observe, listen, touch, breathe, and just be. They believe this connection is vital to not only create the motivation needed to care for the natural world but to nurture the relationship with our selves.
