Personal and professional goals:
I hope to write more books. Writing is such an exhilarating process! I love it.
I also want to host/produce my own show, at some point. I also like the idea of being a part of a documentary.
The type of documentaries that would allow me the opportunity to address some of the more serious topics going on in our world.
I would also really like to include more traveling into my personal and professional life.
That would be amazing!!! I’m very open to all of these personal and professional possibilities, which hopefully will come my way at some point.
What’s my offering to the world:
I like to think that I offer clarity and insight to the people who listen to me either in my private practice, as a therapist, as a psychological commentator on TV, or as an author via my articles and books.
Underneath it all, I’m a therapist at my core.
My goal is always to help people understand themselves and those around them better.
And if this understanding helps them to live a happier and more productive life, even better!!!
Who/What Inspires me:
Oh wow, that’s a tough question to answer. I feel inspired all the time.
I’m inspired by people who are individualists, who think out of the box and use their talents to make life around them better for both themselves and others. I’m always inspired by fascinating scientific and psychological research.
I’m inspired by my friends who are passionate and driven in their respective fields.
Life in general inspires me.
I always want to be exposed to new ideas (whether I agree with these ideas or not), by beauty, by fashion and basically anything else that sparks my interest and creativity.
Mission:
I want to inform/educate people.
I want to inspire them to break barriers (self imposed or otherwise), so they can feel empowered and driven to become the person they want and are meant to be.
Favorite Quote:
There are several quotes I like and speak to how I live my life.
“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.” Milton Berle
“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” Theodore Roosevelt
“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls” Joseph Campbell
“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” Maya Angelou
Right now, I really consider it my mission to help women and men, especially those who have bought into the limiting beliefs they’ve been socialized to believe about midlife.
This cultural dialogue that infers you can only get what you want or fulfill your dreams if you’re young, is so wrong. Midlife over time has become equated with loss, decline and being invisible.
I hope through my latest book, ‘Your Best Age is Now’ a new and more positive way of seeing this undervalued valued time of life can be embraced and internalized.
People don’t have expiration dates placed on them once they hit 40.
In fact, it’s the best time to enjoy all that they’ve become while pursuing all that they can still be.
