Conscious Living Starts With Your Nutrition
The practice of conscious living can be summoned up as being aware. Be mindful and aware of all of your thoughts, actions, beliefs, and goals. Be fully present in the moment. Conscious living can be practiced in the body, mind, and spirit.
A big part of conscious living is your nutrition and being aware of what food you eat and what effect it has on your mind and body. Eating a nutritious diet can help to manage weight, high blood pressure, and cholesterol. It can help with better sleep, allergy control and any number of diseases.
Different foods have various impacts on your body. Pay attention to what happens immediately after eating certain foods. Keep a food diary to track your reactions. If you have histamine intolerance or food sensitivity you may have an immediate physical reaction such as elevated heart rate, jitteriness, anxiety or digestive issues. Heavily processed foods or those high in sugar can cause sugar highs and crashes that can contribute to mood swings and feelings of irritability and anger.
Learn to pay attention to your body and read the signs it sends you. Your body knows what it needs and what is best for it. Being mindful and conscious of the body’s reactions to foods allows you to feed your body the foods that it is craving and needs to function properly and thrive while feeling great.
Conscious living is also important when it comes to the mind. It is important to pay close attention to your thoughts and address any negative thought patterns before they become ingrained into beliefs. Paying better attention to your thoughts allows you to stop the negative ones and change them to positive thoughts. Thinking more positively will lead to greater happiness and an abundance of good things in your life. This positive outlook will help to improve your mood and lead to better interactions with others and more satisfying relationships.
Practice gratitude daily. Learn to not judge yourself for present circumstances and past mistakes. Be thankful for what you have now. Don’t let fear hold you back. Conscious living is a great way to improve your happiness and overall quality of life. It allows you to recognize when you are becoming dragged down with self-pity or doubts or living with a victim mentality. Through conscious, mindful practices, you can begin to let go of what no longer serves you and spend your time and energy on what will bring you joy and help you to reach your goals.
