5 Ways To Combat Worry And Anxiety, Naturally

Kick Worry to the Curb

It’s one of the single most destruction thought-processes of all time.

It can cause sickness, immune disorders, sleeplessness, ulcers, premature aging, and even premature death.

The mind is powerful, to say the least.

I know how easy it is to slip into that state of worrying constantly, so learning how to manage it is critical.

These 5 tips are powerful ways to move beyond your emotions and see the sunny sky beyond the clouds.

You are not your emotions

Lots of people believe and identify with their emotions.

I know, because I do it too.

But the real truth is that we are not our emotions.

By practicing detachment, we can watch our emotions as they pass by without identifying with them.

As time has gone by, I’ve learned to find peace with my worries, and to let them flow without trying to push them out.

It’s about changing the response to worrying, not controlling the thoughts all together.

Worry doesn’t exist in the NOW

Worry never happens in the present moment; that would be impossible.

You’re either in the situation, or not.

Instead, it happens when we’re thinking about a future event with anxiety and anticipation.

That’s why a great tip to stay free from worry is to stay in the moment.

To do this, continually come back to your breath. That steady rhythm of the inhale and exhale will anchor you to the moment.

Schedule worry time

If you’re like me, you know that worrying can take over your entire day.

Which totally sucks.

So instead of that, what I realized I could do is schedule time to worry as much as I’d like.

Making 15 or 30 minutes to worry at the end of the day has proven to be a very effective way of managing stress.

Yoga and meditation

Practicing yoga and meditation regularly gives a solid foundation for dealing with stress and worry.

Feeling overwhelmed? Take a class!

Big meeting coming up? Meditate and feel peace.

It’s really as simple as that.

When our natural baseline of emotions are running smoothly and peacefully, anxiety has a harder time taking root.

That’s what makes it so powerful!
