Personal goals: To raise my daughter Lilia Jewel to be the best person she can be; to teach herabout love, compassion, understanding, and Oneness; to teach her how to listen, see, and speak from the heart. I wish to continue to share my experience, strength, and hope with others in recovery.

I also wish to serve others where I am needed most, spend quality time with my family and friends, and remain open to opportunities to deepen my relationship with God.

Professional goals: To publish my book about wellness, recovery, love, and yoga. To publish a children’s book my beloved fiancé Sandra and I have written together.

To bring yoga to more men and women in need of its healing benefits. To film and distribute a yoga DVD for yoga and recovery.

To publish more articles and essays about mindfulness, meditation, and yoga. To raise funds and awareness for brain cancer research by producing a yoga and music festival.

Why did you become an instructor:

Years ago, yoga quieted my mind and relaxed my body. Yoga allowed me to comprehend the word serenity. Yoga allowed me to establish conscious contact with a Higher Power of my own understanding.

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of my yoga practice, I felt called to share with others what I had found on my mat – healing, recovery, Oneness, and transformation.

Where do you Teach:

I teach yoga and meditation at private rehabilitation centers and sober living homes in Malibu and surrounding areas. I teach public Vinyasa Flow/Power yoga classes at Four Seasons Westlake Village, Agoura Power of Yoga, and Equinox Westlake Village.

I also teach yoga, meditation, and mindfulness to corporate and private clients.

What  do you teach:

Primarily, I teach Atma Yoga. These classes blend Bhakti, Ayurveda, and Tantra to open the heart, quiet the mind, and heal the body. (Saul David Raye is the teacher who guided me toward this beautiful style.)

I teach all levels Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga, and Restorative Yoga.

I created and teach 12-Step Yoga, which pairs specific yoga poses with the 12 Steps. These classes are taught privately at treatment centers, and occasionally, at community centers for the public.

I bring Yoga Therapy to private clients with Degenerative Disc Disease, bipolar disorder, Scoliosis, depression, and hip replacement surgery.

Lastly, I teach meditation based on various yoga traditions and mindfulness techniques.
