Your Personal or Professional Goals:

Personal goals: My fiancé and I will be married.

I will deepen my understanding of yoga, meditation, and service.

I will teach my daughter to read, practice yoga, meditate, and enjoy nature. I will take on a larger role within the addiction recovery community in Southern California.

Professional goals:

I will publish more video and audio content online to bring the healing benefits of yoga and meditation to people who do not know about it or cannot get to these healing modalities. I will host more retreats in 2016.

I will produce special events and workshops for students who wish to deepen their yoga practice.

I will facilitate yoga and meditation classes specifically for men and women in addiction recovery.

What’s your offering to the world:

I ask God each morning to speak through me.

I ask that His will be done; that I be shown where to go, what to do, what to say, and to whom. My offering to the world is what comes of this prayer.

Most days, my offering seems to be personal experience, strength, and hope through teaching, writing, and service.

Who/What Inspires You:

Thich Nhat Hanh. His life, books, and Dharma talks greatly influence my work as a teacher and writer.

Mother Teresa. Her book “No Greater Love” is one of my all-time favorites.

I am always inspired by men and women in 12-Step recovery, who work toward transformation, healing, and recovery.

Mission:

My mission is to bring the healing benefits of yoga to those who do not know about it or cannot get to it.

My main areas of interest are people in addiction recovery; people who suffer from grief and depression; and people who suffer from chronic back pain.

Favorite Quote:

“Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God’s world by mistake.” – Dr. Paul

Other Goals:

Something I have not yet mentioned: I will publish a book I have written about a path to wellness.

The book is my story of recovery from grief, addiction, and chronic physical pain. It is spiritual, self-help, and memoir.

In the book, I share principles that helped me become happy, healthy, and mindful; things like honesty, integrity, faith, hope, forgiveness, service, humility, and spiritual awareness.

I also share yoga poses, meditation tips, and breathing exercises that quiet the mind, relax the body, and maintain conscious contact with Spirit.
