Be Careful What You Ask For!
We asked for clear vision – 20/20 vision to be exact. Apparently, the universe decided to go full force! I don’t know anyone who has not grown from this past year. 2020 has been the impetus for so much self-awareness. Now that we are more aware, I think our intention word for 2021 will have deeper meaning.
Yes, we will stick with tradition and create an intention word for 2021.
How do you want to experience this new year?
How do you want to feel in your body?
It is abundantly clear that we can’t control the world around us, but we can always control how we feel and react to life. I believe we all have gotten better at this. I want to share a story that inspired me and I hope may inspire some of you to step more into your power this year.
I was talking on the phone to my girlfriend, Devi. She was sharing her frustration with how a peer had disrespected her in front of another person. I asked if she addressed this with her and she shared that her peer just was not in a place to hear feedback. She said that the other person involved is learning more about Devi and will eventually come to her own conclusions. Devi simply stated: “All I can do is be the best version of me. I’m not perfect, but people eventually get to know who I AM.”
ALL I CAN DO IS BE THE BEST VERSION OF ME!
In other words, she did not allow bad behavior to affect her mind-space. She did not NEED to prove anyone wrong. Devi didn’t create a negative story. She didn’t take it personally. She did not feed negativity into her subconscious to show up as a challenge later in her life. Instead, she chose to show up as the best version of herself.
This sounds like common sense, but not always easy for our busy minds.
I am sharing this story in hopes that we use this as a “flip and turn” mantra as needed. When we do not feed the negative stories, our brain and body react less to the negativity of our environment.
WE ARE FREEING UP SPACE FOR HAPPINESS IN FUTURE VERSIONS OF OURSELVES.

Now that you have your intention clear, couple it with this mantra to minimize your reaction to negativity and open more space for your growth:
As you move through 2021, whenever you have a bad experience, please state,
“All I can do is be the best version of me!”
Then claim your intention: “I AM ___________!” This will stop the creation of negative subconscious stories and empower you to feel (*your intention word*).
As you create thoughts that support this intention, now create steps to support how you want to feel that are doable.
Understand that the world you live in is your creation. The way you perceive things is your reality.
NOTHING has to be hard. That is only a thought.
YOU ARE THE DAMN LIGHT! Keep shining!
