The workplace can be highly stressful, especially for those who work in high-stake or high-pressure environments. What can you do to make work a more peaceful place to be?
There are actually quite a few ways to create a more spiritual zen experience that are easy to implement once you know what they are. You won’t even have to spend a lot of money in most cases. Here are a few examples to get you started so you can raise your vibration and experience greater inner peace at your 9-to-5 job.

Improve your posture
Taking measures to improve your posture at work can work wonders on your peace and comfort while you are there. This is especially true if you sit at a desk that is not set up to help you be as comfortable as possible. If you can, find ways to adjust your desk or workspace in a manner that allows you to sit with good posture and align your body in a healthy way. If you have to, you should try to talk to your employer about ways to adjust your work area for better physical health.
Let the light in
Many workers suffer from a lack of exposure to light in the workplace. This may be due to a lack of windows or the presence of too much artificial light. If you can, situate yourself near a window that is not constantly covered by drapes or shades. You can even use a daylight lamp if needed so you can get at least some exposure to white light.
Use aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the practice of using specific scents to evoke certain emotions and feelings. Peppermint, lemon balm, frankincense, and rosemary are all great scents that you can add to your work desk to lift your spirits. Try an oil diffuser if your employer allows them, as it will disperse it throughout your work area.
Practice mindfulness
Mindfulness is better for productivity than multitasking, which is really an impossible feat to master as the human brain is not designed to handle multiple tasks at once. Besides helping you be a better worker, mindfulness can help you experience greater peace and allow you to keep an open mind where new points of view and information are concerned. You can try out some smartphone apps or websites that guide you through mindfulness exercises to get started.
Clean and organize your space
Clearing the clutter and dirt from your workspace can add clarity and peace to your everyday life. Use a natural cleaner to wipe up any grime, such as a vinegar, water, and tea tree oil mix, to add some zen scents to your desk and get it shiny and clean at the same time. Don’t expect your employer’s workplace crew to clean your space to your liking.
Try Feng Shui
Feng shui practices aim to make your living and working areas more balanced and peaceful. You can learn how to rearrange your work desk through Feng shui books or online articles on the topic. You may need to remove or add some items to properly follow the principles that you learn about. Many Feng shui tips can be quickly and easily implemented with little preparation.
If you still aren’t sure what to do to feel happier and more spiritually peaceful at work, talk to your coworkers to see if you can get any ideas from them on what they do to improve their professional lives. Some of your ideas might just change their emotions at work, as well.
If you find that the stress is too hard for you to bear, consider seeking advice from a counselor or another trusted professional to find ways to make long-term changes that will allow you to be happier or more successful at work. With a little work, you can make your workplace more zen-filled and increase your peace for years to come.
