Visualize Your Way To Balanced Chakras- A Guided Meditation

Chakra Meditation

Meditation practice can be as easy or as difficult as you make it out to be.

Sometimes it helps to grab a friend and let them guide you through visualization exercises, and other times it’s just easier to be still and alone with your thoughts.

In my personal practice, I find it much easier to come into a meditative state of mind by creating a serene environment- whether I choose to be alone or allow another person to guide me.

Start by creating a space where you feel comfortable, allowing your body and mind to relax for some time.

Invite yourself to explore anything that will allow you to be more present and in the moment.

I like to incorporate music/sound therapy, aromatherapy, and a bit of yoga or free-movement to tune into my bodily senses before beginning my meditation sessions.

Starting Your Meditation

Once you feel ready to start, begin by laying down comfortably on your back.

Tune into your breath by placing your left hand on your heart and your right hand on your belly.

Slightly tuck the tailbone and maybe bend the knees to support the lower back.

Give a slight tuck of the chin to elongate the back of the neck.

Begin by taking deep breaths in and out through the nose.

Start to feel your right hand rise on a full inhale and sink on a full exhale.

After a few minutes of mindfully breathing, take a deeper breath and begin feeling the right hand rise at the beginning of your inhale and maybe the left hand rises towards the end of your inhale.

Exhale deeply, and feel your left hand slowly lower followed by your right hand until you’ve reached the bottom of your exhale.

Continue with this breathing for several minutes.

On your next inhale, you begin to visualize a white light filling the space in your belly and heart, and on your exhale, visualize this white light radiating throughout your entire body from head to toe.

You can choose to visualize and balance all chakras outlined below by returning to the white light permeating your inhales before moving onto each chakra, or just do one at a time and enjoy the experience alone or with a friend!


Root Chakra- Muladhara: Grounding

On the inhale begin to visualize that white light permeating into a deep red, saturating your belly and heart.

On the exhale, this deep red radiates down from the heart to the belly, and pours into the base of your spine.

On your next inhale, begin to repeat, “I am safe, I am grounded” as you visualize the deep red light filling up your belly and heart.

As you exhale, beautiful red light pours down into the base of your spine.

Repeat this for a few minutes until you feel completely saturated with deep red light at the base of the spine.


Sacral Chakra- Svadhisthana: Emotion

On the inhale, begin to visualize the white light permeating into a vibrant orange, saturating your belly and heart.

On the exhale, this vibrant orange radiates down from the heart to the belly, and pours into your lower belly below your navel.

On your next inhale, begin to repeat, “I am sensual, I am creative” as you visualize the vibrant orange light filling up your belly and heart.

As you exhale, this beautiful orange light pours down into your lower belly, just below your navel.

Repeat this for a few minutes until you feel completely saturated with the vibrant orange light below your navel.


Solar Plexus Chakra- Manipura: Purpose

On the inhale begin to visualize the white light permeating into a golden yellow, saturating your belly and heart.



On the exhale, this golden yellow radiates down from the heart to the belly, and pours into your sternum.

On your next inhale, begin to repeat, “I trust in my own guidance” as you visualize the golden yellow light filling up your belly and heart.

As you exhale, this beautiful yellow light pours down into your sternum and the base of your ribs.

Repeat this for a few minutes until you feel completely saturated with the golden yellow light at the base of your ribs.


Heart Chakra- Anahata: Compassion

On the inhale begin to visualize the white light permeating into an emerald green, saturating your belly and heart.

On the exhale, this emerald green radiates down from the heart to the belly, and begins to saturate back into your heart, completely filling your chest.

On your next inhale, begin to repeat, “I fully love and accept myself” as you visualize the emerald green light filling up your belly and heart.

As you exhale, this beautiful green light permeates your heart.

Repeat this for a few minutes until you feel completely saturated with this emerald green light filling up your heart.


Throat Chakra- Vishuddha: Communication

On the inhale begin to visualize the white light permeating into a clear sky blue, saturating your belly and heart.

On the exhale, this clear sky blue radiates down from the heart to the belly, and begins to saturate into your neck, completely filling your throat.

On your next inhale, begin to repeat, “I express myself with truth and love” as you visualize the clear sky blue light filling up your belly and heart.

As you exhale, this beautiful sky blue light permeates your throat.

Repeat this for a few minutes until you feel completely saturated with this clear-as-sky blue light settling and permeating your throat.


Third Eye Chakra- Ajna: Intuition

On the inhale begin to visualize the white light permeating into a shimmering indigo blue, saturating your belly and heart.

On the exhale, this shimmering indigo blue radiates down from the heart to the belly, and begins to saturate your face before pouring into the space between your eye brows.

On your next inhale, begin to repeat, “I am aware, my mind is open” as you visualize the indigo blue filling up your belly and heart.

As you exhale, this beautiful indigo blue light permeates your forehead.

Repeat this for a few minutes until you feel completely saturated with this shimmering indigo blue light filling up all the spaces between your eyes and forehead.


Crown Chakra- Sahasrara: Wisdom

On the inhale begin to visualize the white light permeating into an iridescent violet, saturating your belly and heart.

On the exhale, this iridescent violet radiates down from the heart to the belly, and begins to permeate up your throat and through the eyes before settling at the very crown of your head.

On your next inhale, begin to repeat, “I am connected to pure love and light” as you visualize the iridescent violet light filling up your belly and heart.

As you exhale, this beautiful violet light permeates through to the crown of your head.

Repeat this for a few minutes until you feel completely saturated with this iridescent purple-violet light filling in the crown of your head.

Take one last deep inhale and repeat, “I am whole, I am balanced” and exhale through the mouth, letting anything go that is no longer serving you.

Return to your normal breathing and maybe jot down your experience.
