3 Ways To Balance Your Third Eye Chakra

When we feel out of balance in our lives, every part of our inner being becomes unbalanced.

In this series, we will be focusing on each of the Seven Chakras to heal, balance, and receive positive energy for genuine well being and vitality.

This article digs into the understanding of the Third Eye Chakra – the chakra responsible for our dreams, values, thoughts, and higher levels of consciousness and enlightenment.

When our Sixth Chakra is out of balance, we experience difficulties in connecting with our spiritual side, we develop more headaches and migraines, and our intuition, sense of learning, common sense, and memory are all negatively affected.

Many yogis believe that an unbalanced Anja (Third Eye Chakra) can also develop tumors, spinal dysfunction, ear aches, sinus infections, strokes, equilibrium dysfunction, seizures, and cysts.

Tip #1: Bring Some Indigo Into Your Life

The color indigo is closely associated with the Anja.

Burning a blue/purple candle, being in an indigo colored room, wearing purple/blue clothing, or placing indigo flowers in a vase on your table will stimulate the Third Eye Chakra.

This also includes purple foods: eggplant, prunes, figs, plums, purple potatoes, purple cabbage, purple carrots, purple onions, purple kale, purple rice, beets, grapes, raisins, elderberries, and blackberries.


Tip #2: Think Brain Food

The Third Eye Chakra thrives on brain foods!



This includes any foods high in Omega-3s – flaxseeds, fish, nuts, and oils.

Foods high in antioxidants are also very beneficial for the Anja – such as berries, green tea, and dark chocolate.

Include these foods in every meal!


Light is the element of the Sixth Chakra.

Being outside in the bright sunshine is one of the best ways to heal the Third Eye, as well as using a strong, bright light in your home during the dark winters.

Sound is also effective -“Eem” in the note of “A” ignites the chakra.

Affirmations such as “I see clearly,” “I can resolve my situations with solutions,” and “I can make my dreams a reality,” are also helpful mantras to say out loud.

When you feel like your mind is troubled and you cannot think clearly, knowing these solutions can help you know how you can be active in healing your Third Eye Chakra.

Sometimes, even combining all of these tips every day can result in alignment sooner than you think.

It’s all about clearing what is blocked and what has been neglected, so simply working with one step at a time will undoubtedly ignite your powerful intuition chakra.
