Manipura Chakra
When we feel out of balance in our lives, every part of our inner being becomes unbalanced.
In this series, we will be focusing on each of the Seven Chakras to heal, balance, and receive positive energy for genuine wellbeing and vitality.
The Solar-Plexus, the Manipura, is the third chakra (located just above the navel) and most recognized for governing intuition – or the “gut feeling.”
When our Solar-Plexus is out of alignment, we tend to feel unsure about decisions, live each day on “auto-pilot,” depend on others for approval, and avoid following through with plans.
Digestive issues, eating disorders, weight problems, arthritis, and liver or kidney problems are also associated with an unbalanced Manipura.

Tip #1: Surround Yourself in Yellow
Take a few minutes each day to heal the Solar Plexus by placing yourself in the atmosphere where yellow is the highlight – talking a walk outside on a sunny day, wearing yellow clothes, experiencing the Manipura element of fire and sitting by a fireplace or bonfire, creating a yellow space (yellow blankets, yellow flowers, candles, and the like), using chamomile aromatherapy, and vocalizing the note “E” (which vibrates the third chakra) to the chant of RA.
Tip #2: Find Yellow in Foods
Bananas, yellow peppers, sunflower seeds, rice, flaxseed, yogurt, granola, pasta, bread, and the spices ginger, chamomile, turmeric, cumin, and fennel are all beneficial to balance the Solar-Plexus.
Tip #3: Heal Through Affirmation
We are what we say we are, so to realign the Manipura, the saying “I am confident in all I do and I am successful” is a reminder that you respect your intuition and you have the will power.
You are not lost, you are powerful, and you are capable.
You can laugh, you can speak up for yourself, you have the courage.
A few minutes saying these affirmations out loud each day will balance the Solar-Plexus and clear any blockages.
Bring your Solar-Plexus to balance with these simple tips, and with practice each day, you will be able to live an open life where you feel confident, powerful, and strong!
