Scratch the surface of anyone’s life and they can share a story of hardship. Skeletons in the family cupboard….it’s part of the human condition.
But what happens when you feel like you have been hit by tidal waves of circumstances outside of your control that are completely overwhelming you. And then what happens when this goes on for extended periods?
It begins to be referred to as trauma.
According to an article in Medical News Today, there are three types of trauma. Acute trauma results from a single stressful or dangerous event. Chronic trauma which results from repeated and prolonged exposure to highly stressful events. Complex trauma results from exposure to multiple traumatic events. And finally you can add to this vicarious trauma. This is when you pick up trauma from witnessing someone close to you who is dealing with a traumatic event.
This is what life has felt like for me for a very long time. Like I am out in a raft on the open sea. Clinging for dear life. Having no control over the circumstances of my life.
Someone I love very much used to tell me all the time that I don’t only see a glass half full but I carry it around with me. I was told to put the glass down. Not easy when your triggers are so close to the surface.
We also create our lives. Not just from our conscious thoughts. According to the Law of Mentalism we create from our subconscious thoughts. And these are mostly full of fear. It is the human condition to react from a place of fear due to the negative imprint of past events. It is our ego’s way to keep us safe.
The thread of my gifts that have woven themselves through my life have been about efficiency. Running efficient businesses. I am really really good at this. My claircognizance (the intuition of knowing) has kicked in at its strongest when I am doing this kind of work.
But from my personal experience I know that when I have carried the feeling of overwhelm in my body, I create more chaos in my life. Everything feels like a threat. Everything feels scary and I have carried that stress in my body. Reacting and overreacting and creating more negative consequences. Trying to control it all instead of handing it over to a power greater than me.
This is why I am studying the Advanced Practitioner Intuitive Intelligence Training through the Institute for Intuitive Intelligence in Australia. I am learning how to become a better channel from the One Mind through embodiment.
I know I was doing it before. Unconsciously. When solutions to business problems just pop into my mind and I have created miraculous turnarounds. I know that this was partly due to my years of training and teaching Economics, as a business analyst and project manager. However the magic came from my passionately focused attention and intention that drew solutions to me from the field.
The problem is that it has also been blocked by sitting in overwhelm. So I am learning how to address that overwhelm in my body. So that I can serve others to do the same. Before we look at your business let’s first look at you.
What are you carrying in your body? Where is your stress sitting? (Mine is usually in my neck and upper back). Then when we have cleared that, we can look at your business.
Because let’s face it, your business is a reflection of you. From this place we can create magic!
