5 TikTok Wellness Trends Worth Trying

TikTok is known for its trends, which tend to change faster than most people change their socks. Some are cute, some are wholesome, some are downright toxic (we’re looking at you, TidePods), and some might actually be good for you. Thanks to many social influencers Here are some of the most popular TikTok wellness trends that might be worth trying.

The 12-3-30 Workout

If you’ve got a treadmill but don’t have time for a lengthy run, the 12-3-30 workout is a TikTok wellness trend that you might want to consider. It’s simple — set your treadmill’s incline to 12 and your speed to 3, then walk for 30 minutes. It sounds easy, but if you don’t walk much or spend most of your time in front of the computer, this will be quite the workout.

The benefit of this trend is that it gets you moving but it’s low impact and only takes 30 minutes. This trend gained enormous popularity thanks to TikTok influencer Lauren Giraldo, who credits the workout with helping her lose 30 pounds.

Meditation Bites

Meditation is a great way to start or end your day. There is a myriad of benefits to spending a few minutes each day working on meditation and breathwork, but we live in a busy world and it can often be challenging to find time to sit down and center yourself. A growing number of creators have started offering what we’re calling meditation bites — 1-3 minute long videos that focus on breathwork, affirmations, and even little snippets of meditation that you can use to recenter yourself whenever you might be feeling a little off-balance.

Facial Massages

Facial massage trends like gua sha have gained a ton of popularity on TikTok over the last year, as people are always looking for a new tool or technique to add to their self-care routine, especially after the past two years. Facial massage, in addition to feeling good, has a number of benefits, from helping to treat acne to releasing sinus pressure and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

WitchTok

There is a home for just about everything on TikTok, from books and cooking to people looking for different ways to explore their spirituality. Enter WitchTok, the moniker and hashtag used to denote witches, Wiccans, pagans, and other spiritualists using TikTok as a way to practice their craft.

Witchcraft as a whole has been on the rise throughout the pandemic as people find ways to cope with living through yet another historical event. You can find people offering tarot or oracle card readings, sound cleansing — through your phone’s speaker, of course — information, or just an ear to listen if you’re having a rough day. Like most communities on TikTok, it has its share of drama, but there are always safe little corners where you can learn more about these practices or even incorporate them into your own spiritual practices.

5Roller Skating

Did you enjoy skating as a child? Well, it’s time to dust those wheels off and strap your skates back on. Roller skating has made a comeback in the last couple of years —especially during the pandemic — and learning how to skate again is one trend that we can get behind. If you do decide to adopt this trend, make sure you pick up a set of pads. We don’t bounce back from hitting the floor nearly as fast as we did as kids.

Which trend are you trying first?

TikTok trends come and go but some of these trends can teach us a few things that can help us get healthy and stay that way. Which one of these fun wellness trends are you going to try first?
