3 Steps To Start Meditating
OMG! When I first started meditating I was full of doubt!! I followed Gabby Bernstein’s meditations. Well I only could do it for a minute. I could not sit still…UUGGHH!!
Now I have a regular practice, and I couldn’t be happier!!!
Here are 3 simple steps to help you start meditating
1: Start small-
Start with a 30s-1 minute meditation. Each day increase by 30s. Eventually you will want to meditate for an hour! This is how I gradually increased my time. Again BELIEVE YOU ME!! I was where you are! That is why is called a PRACTICE!!!! It takes time! Do NOT JUDGE YOURSELF!!
2: Use a guided meditation-
This will help you focus your mind not to go all over the place. Once you’ve mastered quieting your mind you can start introducing just music to meditate to or just sit in stillness. Gabby Bernstein has the best guided meditations! I have been her student for 2 and a half years, and I am just beginning to realize my purpose!!
3: Be patient with yourself-
I got very frustrated with myself for not being able to sit still, and thinking that I was a failure. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be PATIENT!! This is why they call it a meditation practice.
Listen to me love!! It takes time, patience and practice!! Love and accept where you are!!! DO NOT FEEL GUILTY OR ASHAMED OF WHERE YOU ARE IN YOUR PRACTICE!!!!
