10 Spiritual Laws For Ending Pain And Suffering

“Here are 10 spiritual laws for ending pain and suffering. These laws are very effective and cost absolutely nothing to end your pain and suffering. All it takes is practice, which sooner or later becomes a powerful discipline.”

1 – Instead of acting on your feelings sit and watch your feelings. And notice that your feeling start to dissipate and disappear… that is the true nature of feelings.

2 – But, also bring attention to whatever it is that you are feeling… don’t ignore your feelings… this is imperative.

3 – Hold your feelings in a field of balance. Is your feeling a feeling that creates harmony? Or does your feeling detract from your feeling of peace?

4 – Next, Find clarity about what you are feeling. Perhaps you don’t know what it is that you are feeling. Search your database of feelings… is it happiness, sadness, anger, envy, anxiousness, anxiety, or fear, What is it that you are feeling? Just clarifying your feelings can many times make it disappear.

5 – Have compassion for what you are experiencing. It’s easy to have compassion for others. But it’s a bit harder to have compassion for the one we see in the mirror. Self compassion is where true compassion starts… loving ourselves unconditionally. So start loving yourself unconditionally and those feelings will disappear.

6 – Rest in the experience of what you have going on in your life. Accept what it is that you have going on instead of fighting it. Acceptance starts the process of healing our inner world.

7 – Instead of trying to control the outer world, which many times is totally impossible, try controlling your mind. It’s our mind which gets out of control, our mind goes into fits of emotion over the smallest things. Watch your mind, see your mind as a child trying to figure itself out, getting angry and having fits like a child. And lovingly care for your mind like a child by giving it rest, all children need lots of rest… and the only way to rest your mind is with meditation.

8 – Think about your emotions this way, if you lost your memory would any of this matter? Probably not. The only thing that would matter if you lost your memory would be this moment right now. You would more than likely be thinking “Now what do I do”. Remember to “Be-Here, Be-Now,” there is no other moment.

9 – If you have pain and suffering going on in your family what do we do with that turmoil? Most of us try to fix it. But many times it’s totally impossible. So what do we do? Going inward is the answer… go inward and touch your pain. Go inward and soothe away your pain. This is what all the great spiritual teachers of the East have taught… be in silence, touch what you are afraid of touching. Be at one with your inner being. Heal your inner world… and your outer world will be at peace. Your problems will not go away, but it will no longer create turmoil and suffering.

10 – Be mindful of what you are doing every single moment, teach your mind to be present for the present is a gift. And anytime your mind wanders away from this moment… bring your mind back to the present. And see the good in all things… this is also of utmost importance.
