Previously working in investment banking at Jefferies, Yunha Kim quit her job to found her first startup, Locket. It was during this period that she experienced burnout and was so stressed out that she turned to meditation. Since then, she has incorporated a few minutes of meditation daily and it has improved her life dramatically. Because of this, she was inspired to start Simple Habit, a meditation app that provides 5-minute meditations for every situation and mood like walking in the city, before sleep, and more.
Your Offering to the World:
Creating a world where mindfulness is adopted by everyone as a daily habit — like exercise or brushing your teeth.
Many of our users squeeze in a 5-minute meditation on their commute, before a meeting, or before giving a presentation, breaking the traditional notion of meditation as something you have to do every morning for a long period of time. They create the idea of meditation has something you can weave into your day, no matter where you are.
A feature that we have on the app is the On-The-Go wheel, which allows new meditators to select what they’re feeling or doing (walking, eating, feeling frustrated) and listen to a meditation corresponding to that – making mindfulness accessible and simple.

A key personal goal is to always keep improving and learning in every facet. I’m always open to receiving feedback from my team members and mentors on becoming a better leader, providing the necessary tools, and creating a positive work environment. I also like to try new mindfulness techniques and explore meditation retreats to incorporate a healthy work-life balance.
