In the modern world of healing stones, there are many fascinating pieces. But perhaps one of the most fascinating is the Organite stone.
Created by Wilhelm Reich in the 20th century but pioneered and modified by Karl Hans Welz (alive today), Organite seems to be getting the attention of nearly anyone it comes in contact with.

A Little Backstory
Reich identified an energy which he called orgone and discovered it could be manipulated using layers of metal and organic material. He used things like wood and cotton for his organic materials and iron sheets and other metals as the metallic components.
However, Welz’s variation brought modern materials into play, acting as the organic component polyester resin. He called it Organite. Orgonite is simply a combination of many metal particles suspended in a resin matrix. Because there are often many metal particles the energy flow within Orgonite tends to be very dynamic — making it pretty powerful stuff.
While conducting his research, Dr. Reich found that organic materials attract and hold orgone energy, while non-organic metals simultaneously attract and repel the energy.
Orgonite is based on these two principles. It is a 50-50 mix of resin (organic, due to the fact that it is based on petrochemicals), and metal shavings (inorganic). A quartz crystal is also added to the Orgonite mix. This is because of its piezoelectric properties, which means that it gives off a charge when it is put under pressure (resin shrinks when it is cured, so constant pressure is put on the quartz crystal).
Due to the fact that the elements contained in Orgonite are constantly attracting and repelling energy, a “scrubbing” action takes place, and along with the charge that the crystal gives off, this cleanses stagnant and negative energy and brings it back to a healthy, vibrant state.
The effects of orgonite differ from person to person. Some feel the energy straight away (usually as a tingling or warm sensation) while for others the effects are cumulative. The most commonly reported effects of orgonite are:
- Physical- Organite brings better sleep, more energy, stronger immune system, and decreased sensitivity to EMFs (electromagnetic frequencies).
- Emotional- A great way to balance moods.
- Spiritual- Encourages spiritual growth by deepening meditations and removing negative energy in a specific place.
How to Use Organite
Organite is best used around areas with a lot of electronics, like offices or desks. However, it’s also pretty versatile so you could feasibly use it while meditating or to clear a room of negative energy.
As always, try to wear this stone whenever you can! All gemstones are more powerful when worn in close contact with the skin.
