I’m a freelance writer and blogger based out of the United States. My father is from India (Kerala) and my mother’s ancestors came from the Ukraine and Lithuania. I always identified with my Indian heritage and it definitely shaped who I am as a person. When I was little I dreamed of traveling to India which happened for the first time when I was 25. Traveling and experiencing other cultures is another huge part of what defines me as a person. I’m lucky enough to have lived abroad three times in Germany, England and Dubai. Besides traveling, I love to spend my time writing and reading about psychology topics. My BA is in psychology and I am currently most interested in the realm of positive psychology, which I write about on my blog.
Personal and professional goals and mission:
I started my blog Absoulutely Anna in 2015 because I felt the need for a space to share my knowledge and experience with others. I have a holistic approach to my blog and write about all the things I love: travel, personal growth, relationship advice and lifestyle tips. My goal with the blog is to give my readers tips to live a life full of happiness, fulfilment and balance. I write in the hopes that I can inspire others to take a risk to live the life of their dreams and work towards their goals. If I can just help one person to do that, I will feel my mission is complete.
What I’m offering to the world:
I believe that I am offering a genuine, caring perspective to anyone who reads my writing. I don’t write for myself, rather I write to help and benefit my audience. I write about all the things I have dealt with in the past and hope that I can help others by writing about it.
In my day to day life I believe that I offer a positive, upbeat attitude. I’m the type that smiles at strangers, chats with people on the subway and offers a helping hand. I’m happiest when I’m helping others, and I feel that is the greatest gift I can offer the world.
Who and what inspires me:
My mother has always been someone who has inspired me. She is one of the most optimistic and resilient people I know. She taught me to love nature and respect it with love. Throughout her life she dealt with setbacks with a positive attitude. I always saw her smiling and helping others—even when she barely had enough for herself. She’s the type that will not only give you the shirt off her back, but any extras she has lying around in her closet! She is a truly remarkable woman.
