Amy Vickers met Lloyd Pye in 2004, was immediately intrigued by his detailed research and controversial theories. She soon became involved with the Starchild Project, an organization investigating a highly unusual 900-year-old skull (the Starchild Skull), and later with Lloyd’s “Intervention Theory” research. Within two years she and Lloyd’s married, and although they separated before his death in 2013, they remained close friends and colleagues. Amy is no longer involved with the Starchild Skull, but still assists Lloyd’s family in continuing his research, promoting his revolutionary ideas, and encouraging others to question assumed “knowledge”. Her current project is a complete update of Lloyd’s ground-breaking book “Everything You Know Is Wrong”, due to be released in September 2017.
Your Personal or Professional Goals:
I would like to see students at all levels encouraged to explore their world with more open eyes. We are all taught NOT to question received wisdom, which I feel is the opposite of what science ought to stand for.
What’s your offering to the world:
Lloyd’s mother has established the “Lloyd Pye Fund For Alternative Researchers”, offering a $1250 cash grant to one deserving researcher every year. We all hope that this fund will encourage more people to carry out their own research, as Lloyd did, and find alternative theories–backed by solid research and evidence–that are a better fit with the facts of the world than some of the shoe-horned theories currently dominating mainstream science. Anyone doing research in ANY alternative field (this is any field not currently accepted by mainstream science, e.g. aliens, bigfoot, ancient medicines, electric universe, morphic fields, etc.) can apply for the grant, and the most deserving applicant will be awarded the grant. For more information, visit http://www.lloydpye.com/lloydpyefund.htm (Applications will open shortly, but you can download the form now and get a head start.)
Who/What Inspires You:
Lloyd Pye. From the first time I read “Everything You Know Is Wrong” my world view was completely shattered. So much of what we THINK we know for sure is actually just someone’s best guess. And worse, sometimes even when a new fact comes along proving that the best guess was wrong, it’s ignored and the guess continues to be taught as the unassailable truth.
To continue Lloyd Pye’s research and to make all of his unpublished works publicly available. To encourage and support new researchers in alternative knowledge, and to discourage the minority of “researchers” who cast a pall over genuine researchers with their sensationalism and charlatanism.
“All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” – Arthur Schopenhauer
